Worldwide, more than one billion people get a fungal infection each year.

Although there are anywhere from 1 to 5 million species of fungi, only a few hundred possess pathogenic traits. The most common fungal infections are ringworm and vaginal yeast infections.

Fungal infections range from mild to life-threatening, putting people with weakened immune systems at risk for the most fungal infections.
